Unified command dissolved

The meeting of council of ministers on Monday decided to dissolve Unified Command of the security forces set up to fight with the Maoist. With this decision, 3,700 policemen would now return to their workstations.

The cabinet also decided to appoint officials to the National Sports Council, Social Welfare Council and add members to the High-level Media Commission.

Similarly, today's meeting also decided to end the provision of national holiday on the birthday of King Gyanendra. The decision comes in during a time when the present government is making decisions on curtailing royal powers and privileges.

Monday\'s cabinet meeting endorsed government\'s policies and programs to be presented in the House of Representatives on Tuesday. Unlike in the past this year Prime Minister GP Koirala is to present the programs at the House.
