Update
Members to be added

The six-member committee formed to draft interim constitution has decided to add more members and start work from Sunday. This decision was reached at a meeting between the draft committee and government-Maoist talks team members on Thursday.

We are waiting for our members receive formal letters from the government, and we expect that by Sunday will start work, said coordinator of the interim constitution drafting committee Laxman Prasad Aryal.

The interim constitution drafting committee was formed after the government-Maoists summit talks on Friday. The committee has the mandate to submit draft constitution within 15-days. The committee was controversial from the start, as the members did not include women, indigenous people and dalits. Confusions also emerged as the government delayed in providing formal letters for the members to start work. When the committee is made inclusive the formal letters will be given, added Aryal.

Meanwhile, the seven party alliance also met at UML headquarters in Balkhu to discuss the latest political developments following the eight point agreement with the Maoists.
