Govt-Maoists talks in Kaski

Second round of talks between top Maoist leaders and Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula started Sunday evening at Silkesh, Kaski, a six-hour walk from Pokhara.

Sitaula reportedly arrived at the village via Dynasty helicopter at 3PM today. Although details on those accompanying Sitaula is awaited, it was confirmed by local reporters that Krishna Prasad Mahara, coordinator of Maoist talk team, also flew in with him.

Reports from Kaski have confirmed that Maoist supremo Prachanda and senior leader Babu Ram Bhattarai are both participating in this round of talks. Prachanda and his team reportedly arrived at Siklesh four days ago.

First round of government-Maoist talks were held in Kathmandu on May 26 that successfully finalised the 25-point ceasefire code of conduct.
