The cabinet has approved five ministers recommended by the Maoists and two state ministers from the NC into the government. The ministers were sworn in on Monday afternoon.

The Council of Ministers have also named Durgeshman Singh in place of Shailaja Acharya as the Nepali Ambassador to India. Singh was recommended after Shailaja Acharya was unable to take the responsibility due to health reasons.

Education minister Pradip Nepal informed the press that the meeting had agreed on carrying out the CA polls in early April. The meeting reached the agreement after the ministers agreed that the dates of the elections and the SLC examinations should not clash. However, the election dates will only be fixed by the Council of Ministers after it is approved by the high level body consisting of the seven party leaders
