JUSTICE REQUIRED: Victims of Maoist atrocities, like this woman at a rally in Kathmandu on Wednesday above, have stepped up their campaign for justice and compensation after the Maoist-led government was installed.

ENOUGH SAID: Deputy Prime Minister Bamdeb Gautam appears deep in thought during a speech by Prime Minister Dahal at the inauguration of the new tv channel ABC in the capital on Thursday.

CHANNEL CHANGE: PM Dahal inaugurated the new tv channel 'ABC' on Thurday. Appreciating the role of the media in the past, Dahal said that Nepali media has important responsiblities in building the New Nepal. He stressed that media should provide feedbacks to the actions of the government.

DANGEROUS CROSSING: The only link between eastern Nepal and the rest of the country is this dangerous crossing of the Kosi at Chattara. The other alterantive is to take a 650 km detour from Biratnagar via India to Birganj. Relief good for victims of the floods also take this route, as this picture taken on Wednesday shows.
