MJF pulls out

Yadab announced the withdrawal on Friday, accusing Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala of igniting the conflict and conspiring to split the party.

He also announced the decision to expel party leader Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar along with Sarat Singh Bhandari, Jitendra Deb, Ramsaroop Raya, Ramjanam Chaudhari, Upendra Jha and Ratneswor Lal Goit.

The decision came after an emergency meeting of MJF which took place following Gachchhadar's appointment as the deputy prime minister and MJF leader in the government. Gachchhadar was sworn in as the deputy prime minister and minister of physical planning along with seven other ministers only a day before.

Nepal appointed Gachchhadar despite a letter from MJF asking him not to induct anyone in the cabinet without official recommendation from the party. The letter was in reference to not only Gachchhadar but also to the list of candidates recommended by him. Yadab has now called his appointment unconstitutional.

Following the announcement Gachchhadar has asked Yadab to take back his decision to withdraw support for the UML-led government as well as revoke his and six other party leaders the expulsion of the seven leaders. He has questioned the decision to withdraw support to the government after signing the common minimum program (CMP) along with 21 other parties.
