Dahal administered oath of office to his complete cabinet with 15 ministers of Maoists, UML and small parties on Sunday. Although, the leaders had told the press yesterday that three big parties had agreed to expand the cabinet with three deputy Prime Ministers, only Bamdeb Gautam of the UML took the oath of deputy PM.

He has also been given the second position in the cabinet, which has made Baburam Bhattarai of the Maoists very unhappy. Bhattarai had reportedly even said he would resign if he didn't have the #2 post. But Bhattarai's wife was made tourism minister, although she was in Canada and couldn't attend the swearing in.

The swearing in ceremony was delayed after Baburam Bhattarai expressed his dissatisfaction over Bamdeb Gautam have the second position in the cabinet. The CPN (ML) backed out of joining the government at the last minute after it did not get the Ministry of Land Reform, which it had been bargaining for.

The Maoists have picked Hisila Yami, Pampha Bhushal, Lekharaj Bhatta, Matrika Yadav, Gopal Khambu and Janardan Sharma and Girirajmani Pokhrel of Janamorch Nepal Rajendra Mahato of the Sadbhawana and Ganesh Ganesh Shah of CPN Unity have been picked from small parties.
